Some Like It HOT!

Hi All!

It's the last Wednesday of ol' February (boo-hoo - not!) and that means it hop time! This month, the theme is "Some Like it HOT!" After last month's "cold" theme, "hot" would be a good challenge to go with. (And boy am I READY for some heat!) This will be easy, since ALL of the Bombshells (stamps and you REAL Bombshells out there) are all hotties. :-)

That said, here's my contribution:

I busted out the acrylic for this one! I used Ranger Adirondack re-inkers and metallic gold additive. I thought it looked "hot". Unfortunately, the gold doesn't show up quite as well as I'd like the camera wasn't cooperating. The frame is an acrylic frame I believe by Maya Road (I've had it a while). The stamp is "Sacred Heart" colored with Copics.

On Cloud 9

Hi All!

I thought I'd post this little cutie for a challenge over at the Greeting Farm.I've always loved this little piggy and I know he's retired now, but that doesn't mean he can't be shown off.

I think he's a doll (yes, I've decided the little piggy is a "he"). I colored him with Copics and fussy cute him. The flat bottom cloud dies are from My Favorite Things and is the tab die. The print paper is by Jillibean.

A quick congratulations to Bunny for winning my favorite Sassy Studio Designs chic - Sassy Leia. Please shoot Kim an email at ssdreleasecrew@yahoo.com to claim your prize. :-)

So Very Sweet

Hi All!

I'm working on yet another challenge - I'm having waaaaayyy too much fun doing this. I originally created this one for Paper Crafting Journey's "Bingo" challenge. I used Lingerie Sassy and for the "bingo" bit I used lace, flowers and embossing.

I punched the top of the card with a scalloped Knock Out by American Crafts, the lace ribbon is also by American Crafts. I embossed the background with my fav - Swiss Dot folder and she of course is colored with my Copics. Yes, she's a bit cheeky, but in a sweet way.

Playin with the Queen of Hearts

And knowin it ain't really smart...

Hi All!

Sorry, I've had that song stuck in my head. Ahh, the 80s. This little cutie for a couple of challenges - first and foremost, Creative Creations Challenges is doing a "Sing It To Me" dealio - thus Queen of Hearts. (Now maybe I'll be able to get that song out of my head.) I used a fairly new release by Sassy Studio Designs - Queen of Hearts Pin-Up

I cut the big fancy heart on the Cricut (It started to choke on the dust - I haven't shown it some love in a while, it's the Cuttlebug's fault.) I used a fav Swiss Dot embossing folder and too a R35 Copic to the dots. It's kind of an easy way to add some dimensional color. She's much nicer looking than Tim Burton's big headed queen. LOL

I also want to enter her in a few other challenges...

Green With Envy - The Blog Hop

Hi All!

Sassy Studio Designs has decided to have a fun 2-day blog hop - with a twist. We're allowed to use any Sassy Design and we can create whatever we want ....wait for it.....but there has to be a splash of green in it. The coolest part is if you leave some blog love, you could win the image I used in my project! Woot! Woot!

Without further adieu..... That's right Princess Leia in the howsze! Not just Princess Leia, but Sassy Leia.

I've had her for a while and I've been looking for an excuse to use her on something and to be quite honest, she probably should've been my husband's Valentine card - we're a bunch of Star Wars freaks around here. I added the laser fire background to add my little splash of green. :-) The white dress was colored a bit different. I usually like to use violets or blues on white clothes but this time I used E000, R000, R00, V000 and V01. A little weird but it worked. The lasers are everything from YG00 to YG09. The background paper is some stuff I had left from the Disney album I made, but I can't remember who makes it. (it's sad when you get old.)

So, wanna win her? Of course you do! Just join us for our hop - make sure you leave some love, otherwise I won't know you want to win. I'll do a random drawing and Tuesday we'll have a winnah!

Tranquility

Hi All!

It's time for the Bombshell Stamps sketch challenge.

Here's February's sketch!

Please feel free to flip it, flop it, and make it your own. Just as long as you use your Bombshell stamps and have fun with it, it's good!

I used the Koi Tattoo stamp set, colored the whole thing and then decided to cut it into panels. I've been having some fun experimenting with stippled backgrounds as well, it think it worked well with this set.

Be sure to use the Inlinkz below the sketch challenge on the Bombshell Stamps blog to share your creation with us AND have the chance to win the fabulous prize of a $20 gift certificate to the Bombshell Stamps store!

Have fun and good luck!

Tutorial and Challenge

Hi All!

It's Fabulous Friday at Bombshell Stamps and I get to show you another cool tutorial. This one is a recent technique I came across - by the guru himself, Tim Holtz. Its an embossed resist, very simple but very cool results.

Here's what you'll need:
Distress Ink, an embossing folder ( I used one by Tim Holtz), a die cutting machine (I used a Cuttlebug), Paint Dauber by Ranger Ink, a craft sheet, and a foam blending tool - coffee drink optional.

First, take a piece of cardstock (I used white, but any lighter color stock will work) put it in an embossing folder and run it thru your machine.

Using the paint dauber, go over the top of the embossed image, you can daub it, swipe it, whichever works best, let dry.

For your last step, take the foam blending tool and some Distress Ink ( I used Barn Door and Fired Brick) and go over the entire image. You can use one color or a combination. The Dauber Paint will resist the ink. You can take a wet paper towel and wipe off more of the Distress ink from the paint to make it brighter if you like. I also spattered some water onto the whole thing to leave some water spots.

Let it all dry and tada! You have a groovy embossed, resist background! I used the Peek A Boo Geisha digi stamp, colored with Copics. You can get some really cool effects using this technique - give it a whirl!

Now, I know I also said there's a challenge - actually there's two, both are sponsored by Sassy Studio Designs. One is at www.fatpageswithattitude.blogspot.com the challenge here is "Be My Valentine" and the other is www.crafts4eternity.blogspot.com the theme here is also "Be My Valentine". I created a card using Sassy Cupid:

I have to giggle a bit about the creations I've been working on for February - I'm not a big fan of  Valentine's Day and the majority of what you'll be seeing is Valentine themed, insert nervous laughter here. Sorry, just never been really fond of it. Anywho, it's an excuse to color up some really cute stuff so this endeth the lesson. LOL I used a Hampton Arts card base (love those things) and embossed the red cardstock with a flourished embossing folder by Paper Studio. The "B Mine" is a stamp from My Sentiments Exactly.

Hope you decide to give the tutorial a whirl or enter the challenges. Most importantly - have fun!

P.S. I'm also entering this in Tip Top Tuesday's "Let Me Call You Sweetheart" challenge. ;-)

Hearts and Flowers

Hi All!

I can't believe it's already February! Geez! I hope that darn groundhog says Spring is right around the corner...at least if he knows what's good for him LOL.

Today I bring you something a little different. Sassy Studio Designs does sponsorships for various challenge blogs, my mission is to make creations for said challenges. I invite you all to join in on the fun and take up these challenges as well to not only show off you skeelllz, have fun and possibly win a prize!

The challenge for today is on the Corrosive Challenge Blog; use hearts and flowers in your design. I used Holiday Ariel Honey and I think the flowers and the sentiment are K & Company - not sure, I have a box full of bits and things get all mixed up - could be Anna Griffin too.

The card is approx 5 1/2 x 5 1/2, I cut it on the Cricut and embossed it with a Paper Studios embossing folder.

I hope you head over and join the challenge!

P.S. I'm also entering this in Tip Top Tuesday's "Let Me Call You Sweetheart" challenge. ;-)

Until Next Time!
