Something Extra

Good Evening Everyone!

I've got a little blog bonus here I wanted to share in honor of the Stanley Cup Finals starting tonite (although I'm not a fan of either team) and Kenny K stamps.... dadda! It's Hockey Girl! I love this chick. If I had ever really played hockey I would hope to look like her - even with a shiner. This is actually a shameless plug for my entry into the Kenny K Design Team contest (Oh! Oh! Pick Me, Eh!) At any rate, she's everything I love - a digi and a hockey playin chic so needless to say I had to have her. My Copics enjoyed the experience I think. (my hubby would be calling me a dork right now, but that's okay - Bring It!)

So, the print paper is old Karen Foster Hockey, I have a stash of hockey paper and other hockey goodies since my hubby played hockey (and someday will again, that's a demand, not a request!) The rub-ons are Scrap N Sports, and the stickers are by Cloud 9. Copic colors used for her skin: E00, E01 and E11; her hair: E51, E53, E55; her skates, breezers and gloves: C5, C7, C9, B0000, B000, B00; her stick: E40, E42, E44 and finally her jersey: R35, R37, R39, B14, B16, B18. I did give her a bit of a shiner using V01 and BV02.

And with another shameless Pick Me! Pick Me! I'm off.

Until next time,
Jodi :-)

May Celebrations Hop

Hi Ya'll! (Sorry I must be channeling Paula Deen)

It's hard to believe, but here we are, the end of May and our fabulous monthly blog hop! This month's theme, "May Celebrations", brought to you by the creative goddesses at Bombshell Stamps (well, it was Allison's idea)  was so fun, who knew there were so many "unsung" reasons to party in May! I picked a no brainer for me - Armed Forces Day!

I got to play paper dolls this time with my Bombshell Angel set (just LOVE her). I gave her the pilot look with the good 'ol Copics. The print paper is by Bo Bunny, plus I used some sparkly stars and the sticker came from Reminisce.

Hope you enjoy and give an out of the ordinary celebration a whirl. Make sure you visit the other hoppers and show them some love! Check out the Bombshell Stamps blog for each month's blog theme and join us!

Tic Tac Toe

Hello All! Well, I'm late with my Pin-Up challenge this month, Ugh! May is CRA-ZAY-ZEE! Anywho, our fun challenge this month was to pick off the "tic, tac, toe" board. (see below)
https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjMB50ubGSOGgApELP2VzfycHvbf9n3VdHWGiuLdt4ouq28V_pEn50eQBz-98G41ya5wVCTH4IumCHSJGrEUSw6zYYt2LeZMCsaIkrqa8UUQbMIxJ0fFDpegPfKBiChsX8srQiL6SsufGIh/s1600/bombshellmay.PNG http://www.bombshellstamps.com/blog.html
You too can still play along. I chose pins, roses and red. That's a lot going on for me, but I'm happy with how it turned out. I used the "Butterfly Queen" stamp set, the print paper is by Flair Designs and I used the rolled rose die from My Favorite Things. Like I said - a lot. The card size is actually 5x7 as well. Give it a whirl, and let's see what fun combos you can come up with!
Until next time,
Jodi :-)

The Mermaid Princess

Colors used: Skin - E000*, E01*, E02*, Shells - R00, R20, R21, Fin - BG45, BG49, Hair - E13*, E15*, E17*, and Her Crown - Y13*, Y15*, Y17*. Colorless Blender and Clear Spica Pen optional. Print paper by Cosmo Cricket "Salt Air Collection".
Isn't she cute?! I seem to have an affinity for mermaids and I've been itching to do a class using them, so FINALLY, her we are! This little beauty is by Stampedous and it's a pretty new line. We'll get some more practice coloring hair on this one too. Now, don't freak out about the color list, a good chunk of these colors we've used in previous classes, so you probably already have them. That said, if you don't want those colors or don't want to use what I've suggested, don't. I don't want you to feel overwhelmed by having to get all of them. Chances are you have something in your current collection that could work. The thing is, you can't really do much with 5 or six colors without it looking a bit blah. That's why I try to make sure we use colors we've already used and I throw in a few new ones as well to add to your collection. By no means do I think everyone should have as many as I do! Good Lord, we'd all be in trouble then! :-) So if you want to know what can be substituted, just ask, we can always figure something out.

To sign up for the class, give us a call at Scrap 'N Friends 833-2600 and come join us for a relaxing, creative and fun time. If you can't make the class, but would like the kit you can do that as well, just let us know. 2/$5.00 and in includes all the pieces you need to make the card as well as coloring directions. (Markers and stamp not included, but can be ordered)

Hope you can make it!

Until next time,
Jodi

Technique Tags for June

We're rolling along now with our Technique Tag class! We had an inky good time Tuesday creating blends and puddly messes. For June's class, we'll be creating a stamped watercolor look and keeping with the watercolor theme, we'll be watercolor painting using our ink pads (or re-inkers if you choose). If you didn't make it to our first class, you're still most welcome to join us anytime! Come learn something new! Give us a call at Scrap 'N Friends, 833-2600 and sign up to join us June 5th and you can pick from either 12:30 or 6:00 to accommodate different schedules. Hope to see you there!
Craft Sheet and a water brush is recommended, but not required for class.

There's also a few spots left for National Scrapbooking Day, Saturday May 5th from 9-9. Join us for a fab fun day with your friends!

Until Next Time!
Jodi
